Coming back from a blog hiatus is always a weird feeling. A combination of cluelessness, self-doubt, and not knowing what the heck to write to make up for lost time. Anyway… let’s start with the fact that I am indeed, alive and kicking! Life for the past two months has been going at full speed ahead, and it all just seems like a blur to me now. Before I even knew it, Christmas passed and 2019 came knocking on everyone’s door. Seriously, where did all that time go?!

Travel Plans

If you follow me on Instagram, you’d know that I’ve been in Japan and South Korea for the past few weeks! Why Japan again, you may ask? I simply can’t get enough of the place, and most people who have travelled there would agree. Korea was pretty cool too… in a literal sense. I don’t think I’ve ever been so damn cold in my entire life, and winter had barely even started during my trip. More posts on my travels coming up soon!

As if that’s not enough, I’m also going to Thailand and Singapore with family quite soon. I’m not sure if it’s the sign of a midlife crisis, but my parents have been really keen on travelling lately. And who am I to say no? As my siblings and I get older, it won’t be long before we outgrow these family holidays, as sad as it makes me.

Work Life

I wrapped up work for the year before my trip, thank goodness! Since I work with social media, a lot of content had to be prepped and scheduled for while I was gone. Definitely no easy task when you’re talking about numerous clients and projects going on at the same time… I think I cut it a bit close, but it all worked out in the end!

Agency life has its ups and downs, but despite being busy on the whole it’s pretty exciting. I actually enjoy the variety, so having a lot of things to keep me occupied is right up my alley. But if there’s anything I’ve learnt this year, it’s the fact that I really need to step up my time management skills. I also need to work on that ever-present creative block, which I’ve ranted about before! Nonetheless, I’m excited to see what kind of work is in store for 2019.

Health Updates

I don’t have much to report health-wise, which is really the best I can hope for with my chronic illness. Maintaining my health is actually a lot of work, and can definitely get stressful at times. Luckily, I’ve been more stable this year and things should be fine as long as I don’t slack off! 2017 wasn’t the easiest year for me in that sense, but I’m happy that things are a little calmer a year on.

Happy Holidays!

The festive season is usually a low key affair for me, but always includes the important things – food, family, and a whole bunch of doing nothing. And while this time of year is fun and all, I’m already stoked for 2019! I have my brand new diary sorted, and am just dying to write in it already. Unfortunately, I don’t have all that many plans for 2019 yet so that’ll have to wait.

In case you were wondering, these pictures are from Nick Cave’s exhibition ‘Until’. It’s at Carriageworks until March 2019, but I really wanted to check it out before I went overseas. Obviously the artwork is stunning, and totally Instagram-worthy material. But it also touches on issues of race and gun violence, and the meaning of each piece really gets you thinking. Anyway, I totally recommend checking it out if you can!
