insta-august

If I had to say anything about August, it would be that I’m so glad it’s over. With my schedule rendering me busy for pretty much five days a week I’ve never felt more tired in my entire life, so unfortunately blogging has had to take a back seat for now! I can’t even fathom how some people manage it with full-time jobs, but thankfully things should die down a bit with the arrival of a new month. Anyway, when all else fails I usually rely on Instagram to document my life, so here are some snapshots of what I’ve been up to lately:

1. The sunset that birthed a million Instagram posts. No kidding, I almost didn’t post this because I didn’t want to seem like a total cliche…

2. After hearing so much hype about it I finally got around to trying Anita Gelato, and it was pretty darn good! I got the Cookie Man flavour as per Rosa‘s recommendation, and the cookie pieces complete with freshly melted chocolate more than satisfied my sweet tooth.

3. Stalking plants after being dragged to Flower Power, as you do… This is what happens when your mum’s a gardening fanatic.

4. Family fun times involving sushi and frozen yoghurt.

5. I was a little too excited to finally get my hands on these Typo lanterns for my magnetic board! There’s just something about string lights that really complete a room. In any case, I’m currently resisting the temptation to add even more to my collection.
6. I’m not usually a fan of chicken burgers, but this one from the Grounds proved me wrong! The chicken pieces were pretty generous, and of course I can never go past those amazing, thick-cut chips.
7. Garlic tonkotsu ramen from Gumshara’s. Seriously, is there ever an occasion when a steaming bowl of ramen isn’t appropriate?
8. At the Art Gallery of NSW. I was actually there to see a Japanese exhibition and guided tour for uni, but in the weirdest turn of events my classmates and I ended up being invited into the members lounge, haha! All we really did there was take advantage of free hot drinks and cookies, but hey… there’s something to tick off my bucket list.

So, there’s my month in pictures! I feel ridiculously guilty that my only post this month has to be an insta-recap, but hopefully I can get back to normal programming soon. In any case, you can keep up with me on my Instagram account (@manisay) and I hope you’re having a great weekend!
